Lee Marine, Inc. was formed in 1978. Hello, I’m Greg Lee, and from an early age, my hobby and passion has always been boating. I grew up boating with my family every weekend on Kentucky Lake. From the age of 9 I was piloting my father’s 1964 37 Owens cruiser up and down the lake. My favorite hobbies - water sports, fishing, water skiing, and boating in general, evolved into repairing engines and working on boats. Then at the age of 19, I founded Lee Marine in 1978, and operated as a mobile service facility. That same year, I began racing boats, which 13 years later culminated into 2 APBA US national championships. By this time, my business had evolved into a full line multi - dealership offering Mariner outboards, Mercruiser and Volvo stern drives and over the years I was a top dealer for many brands of quality boats including Glastron, Gambler, Laser, Larson, Wellcraft, Trojan Yachts, Chris Craft, and Donzi.

Known as a hands on owner and for outstanding troubleshooting and mechanical abilities; I quickly developed a loyal clientele who appreciated my meticulous approach to service and repair of their prized possessions. During my career, I’ve received numerous sales and outstanding service awards from Mercury Marine, Volvo Penta, Glastron, Laser, Wellcraft, Trojan Yachts, and by the late 1990s I had become a top 10% Chris Craft dealer, and a top 15% Donzi dealer. My business grew again in the early 1990s as I added full storage facilities and having received special training in structural fiberglass repair and gel-coat refinishing, I began offering this service as well, which is as much an art as a technique. In the mid 1990s I began selling mid to large cruisers and quickly became known for my competent electronics and HVAC installations, yacht service and maintenance programs and complete vessel refurbishing and remodeling, in addition to being a consultant to various boat manufacturers.

They say: have a job that you love and you’ll never work a day in your life, and that idea describes my life and career. My clients have become my friends and family - whether they live here or in Sweden. I’m always available 24/7 by cell phone, and due to my extensive hands on background, I take great pride in being a great troubleshooter over the phone - becoming a personal Wizard of Oz for my clients, as every moment spent on the water is precious to all of us! As a surveyor, I am VERY thorough and due to my structural and mechanical repair background, I know where most problems likely are or are likely to occur on any particular brand, and that knowledge obviously is invaluable.

Nowadays, my brokerage service has evolved from my years of dedication to the boating industry. Most of my time and talents now are simply spent making my existing and future clients and friends boating experience as pleasurable and trouble free as possible, by offering a unique model for acquiring and selling the best deals in the country on both new and used boat sales of all sizes and types; offering a rather unique brokerage service; complete service and maintenance; mechanical and structural repair gel-coat refinishing and refurbishing; custom remodeling; electronics installations, and HVAC and generator installations; and a personal yacht care service for my most meticulous clients. I also offer an exclusive boat finder's service in which, based on your desires and needs criteria, I will thoroughly search the world over for that perfect boat just for you; personally inspect, survey, and sea-trial a particular vessel as your representative, and based on my strong background, you can be confident that your prized possession represents the best of the best that the market has to offer. An important factor often down-played by retail dealers and brokers not truly looking after your best interests, but of great importance in the long run, is future residual market value of your purchase. My 30 plus years of hands-on experience in all aspects of the marine industry makes your boat ownership experience pleasant and safe.

We are affiliated with Kenlake Marina, 888 Kenlake Marina Lane, Aurora, Kentucky, owned and operated by Mike Romano. KenLake has grown from a small fishing dock in 1952 to presently offering 165 covered slips up to 60; over 40 open slips; a restaurant/marina store; banquet hall; gas, diesel, and pump-out service, and over-night slips for in-transit boaters. I’ve personally boated at Kenlake since 1972 and it’s become my summer home. Now, it’s the home for most of my in-water inventory and some of my brokerage offerings. KenLake is filled with boats I’ve sold and serviced over the last 3 decades, and weekends have become lively get-togethers for all of us.
